________________________________________________
An international pharmaceutical company are seeking to consolidate their UK operations into a single campus on a plot in Slough Trading Estate, on which some of the existing buildings are to be demolished and some retained.
J+W were invited to compete for the commission, and prepared three options for the development. J+W were then selected as preferred bidder and developed a fourth option for presentation to the client and property holdings body.
________________________________________________
As part of a team of 3 I dissected the brief, conducted site analysis, conceived and developed one of three design options and illustrated these options for the initial competition winning submission and subsequent presentation. Due to prominent street frontage on Bath Road, I assisted in significant façade design exercises for each option.

Preferred Option

Existing Site

210 Bath Road existing building demolished, car park half level retained.

First replacement laboratory section of the new campus is built on the 210 semi-basement carpark. 208 Bath Road remains client's main entrance.

Lab facilities from Plot 216 decant into new lab building and the previous building on 216 is demolished.

The remaining office and lab are built on plot 216, creating a complete, new-build campus for the client. The main entrance relocates to 212 Bath Road. 208 Bath Road facilities decant into the completed building.
